Using Video as a Marketing Tool

One of the most important tools in the recruiting process is videotape.  More than likely, the only way a college coach will see you play is on a videotape!  Why?  With limited resources, a college coach cannot take the time or spend the money to begin assessing your talent -- to determine if you are someone they'd like to recruit.  Coaches use video to determine ability and form, and then decide if you are someone worthy of a campus visit or a recruiting trip!

You Need A Video That A Coach Can Use

Most videos received by coaches include grainy video that includes either extreme close-ups of a specific player or wide angle shots that force the coach to search for you (and most times, don't find you!).

What Should a Video Include?

Personal highlights, game film, a personal introduction, personal information as title pages and a highlighted athlete (with spot-shading or arrow to designate YOU!).

Video Services

TCP makes raw video footage, as well as edited highlight and game tapes available to showcase participants. 

Raw Footage - Cost: $100 - Showcase Participants will receive (1) copy of raw showcase footage (any game/scrimmage of a participant's team) in DVD format (up to 2 hours of footage).  All footage is unedited and may/may not include specific student athlete.  This video can be used to create a Highlight DVD. Online Video Evaluator System - Cost: $200 - TCP will collect raw showcase footage and then make your raw highlights available to coaches online in the Top College Prospects Video Evaluator System. Top College Prospects will select up to (6) raw highlights and make them available online in the Video Evaluator System, found at www.TopCollegeProspects.com website. Instead of mailing a DVD to a coach, you can immediately email them a link to your raw video highlights! Showcase Highlight Video - 10 -15 minutes of video.  Cost: $200.00. Video will include up to  5-7 highlights, 8-10 minutes of continuous game footage and a personal introduction by the student-athlete.  If continuous game film does not apply, 10-15 highlights will be used.  You will receive (1) copy of the Video (in DVD format), which you can use to make additional copies. Complete Recruiting Video - 15 - 20 minutes of video.  Cost: $300.00. CPOA uses showcase video, as well as video supplied by student athlete.  Tape will include up to 8-10 minutes of continuous game footage, 10 - 15 highlights, and a personal introduction by the student-athlete.  If continuous game film does not apply, 20-25 highlights will be used.  Video will include the designation of the student on screen with an colored arrow, slo-motion, and the use of customized graphics detailing titles, personal/academic statistics, and contact information.  Student highlights are self-selected. (Client may hire CPOA to select highlights at a $25.00 an hour viewing charge)  You will receive (10) copies of the video (in DVD format). CLICK TO SEE VIDEO SAMPLE

Other Available Video Services:

Collection of Your Game Footage - CPOA will travel to your home or away game (New England Area) to collect game footage using a (2) two camera set-up.  Why two cameras?  So we don't miss that goal or key defensive play!  Costs range from $100-$125 per game plus mileage (for away games) and media (tapes/transferring).
